Who Should Get the Shot?

EVERYONE: especially women who are pregnant, the elderly, and children over six months of age. Individuals with kidney or liver disease, asthma, or those with deficient immune systems (such as cancer, chemotherapy, AIDS or HIV) are at high risk.

EXCEPTIONS: few people cannot take the flu shot.

While flu season commonly begins towards the end of October here in the northeast. Getting it towards the end of summer is always a good idea for several reasons.

Mandatory Flu Shots

Depending on your area of employment, you may be required to have a flu vaccination. This is done to protect the people who you work with, as well as customers or patients you come in contact with. Hospital and nursing home employees are required by law to be vaccinated.

Types of Flu Shots
