Employment Medical Exams and Testing

Many companies require pre-employment medical exams, blood and drug testing, plus follow-up medical exams for work. Stat Health is here to assist the employers and employees in Rockland County New York. We pride ourselves on being available when others are not. These exams assure the worker is able to perform the physical skills required, based on their physical status.

Pre-employment Physical Exams

Work physicals establish the ability to perform in jobs that require physical stress. It is important for the health of the employee, as well as the liability of the employer. Pre-employment physical exams, by law, can only be requested by an employer after an offer has been made to the candidate. It is a mechanism that insures no discrimination.

What the Medical Exam for Work Entails

There is nothing extraordinary about the physical examination: only the clinicians who perform it! Because we have multilingual staff, it is far easier for the person to express concerns and receive explanations in their native tongue if needed. Patients will be examined for:

Drug and Alcohol Testing

Depending on the employer policy and position applied for, drug and alcohol testing has become rather standard: not only for pre-employment medical exams, but for random testing in the workplace as well. It is an almost certain requirement in high risk work environments, such as working with chemicals, heavy equipment, patient care, and dangerous materials. Testing is one of the tools engaged to protect not only the public, but also peers and the individual. Stat Health has several methods available, depending on the need, speed, and request of the employer:

The Results

Once the examination has been completed, the doctor will issue a report showing your current health status. He might add recommendations for vaccinations, further blood tests or prescriptions, although this is not always required.
Our primary goal is to comply with your employer’s request so you can start your job as soon as possible. However, we also want to make sure you are aware of any medical conditions or issues you might be dealing with, so you stay safe and work on getting back to optimal health.
